ftwilliam.com Express Import Basics
Firms that are new to PensionPro but who already use the ftwilliam.com compliance application can use the ftwilliam.com Express Import Power Tool to easily populate PensionPro with the information that already exists on that system. This tool will use FTW data to create the following PensionPro records; it will also link the new records to the corresponding items in FTW if applicable:
-
Clients (and linked Companies)
- This includes Employer Data entries
- Plans
- Contacts
- Plan Contact Roles
This Power Tool requires an active integration with ftwilliam.com. To connect for the first time or to verify the status of an existing connection, refer to the article ftwilliam.com - Integration Setup & Preferences.
Using the ftwilliam.com Express Import Tool
Requires Security Rights: Access Power Tools
The ftwilliam.com Express Import is a multi-step Power Tool that walks the user through selecting FTW company/plan records and portal users for import into PensionPro.
To get started, navigate to Power Tools > Import > PensionPro Setup > ftwilliam.com Express Import; the Power Tool opens to Step 1. For assistance in completing the FTW Express Import, expand the instructions below.
Step 1: Options
This step applies the settings that will be used by the import tool.
- For I want to import, select Clients and Plans.
Select Next to continue to Step 2.
Enterprise tier only
If using multiple ftwilliam.com subscriptions, PensionPro will also require a Location be chosen. This selection will be used to identify which FTW account to retrieve data from. Only the account containing PensionPro's Default Location (as identified in Firm/Location settings) can be used to complete the import.
- PensionPro assigns all imported records to the Default Location. To import data from other FTW accounts, it may be necessary to either associate the Default Location with a different account, or designate a different Location as default, depending on the circumstance.
Step 2: Clients and Plans
PensionPro will retrieve a list of clients and plans in ftwilliam.com that can be imported. The grid on this step will display basic information about each found item, including Client and Plan Name, Plan Year End, EIN, and IRS Plan Number.
Select the entries to import into PensionPro. If a record cannot be imported, it will be grayed out, and the Issues column will identify the reason an import isn't possible.
If an entry's Client Name contains a hyperlink, the Client record already exists in PensionPro but a matching Plan hasn't been found. Selecting this item will import the new Plan under the existing Client.
When the desired Plans have been chosen, select Next.
Step 3: Contacts
The grid on this step lists FTW portal users linked to the plans chosen in Step 2. These will be imported into PensionPro as new Contacts and assigned Plan Contact Roles based on their signer role.
Select the contacts to import, then select Next.
Step 4: Review
PensionPro displays the number of Clients, Plans, and Contacts that will be created by this import. Review the information provided; when ready, select Execute.
Step 5: Finish
When this step is reached, the Power Tool is complete, and the items chosen in Steps 2 and 3 will be queued for import. The user will receive two emails: one to confirm that the request has been queued, and another once the import has been performed.
Use Start Over to restart the Power Tool from Step 1.
