The ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool allows users to onboard initial data easily and efficiently into PensionPro. Users can import Clients, Plans, and Contacts from ftwilliam.com (FTW) using their FTW API Key. This article provides information on how to access and utilize the ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool to import new information into PensionPro.

What Records are Created with the Power Tool?

The ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool is only used for creating new information in PensionPro. It should not be used for editing established data. Users importing data with the ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool will create the following data records:

  • Clients – Client Name, Client ID, Location, Address Type, Address 1, Address 2, City, State, Zip Code, Number Type, Number, Fax Number Type, Fax Number
  • Employer Data – Client Name, Entity, EIN, Fiscal Year End Day, Fiscal Year End Month, Period Start, Period End
  • Plans – Plan Name, Client Name, Plan Type, Plan ID, IRS Plan Number, Plan Month End, Plan Day End, Trust ID Number, Original Effective Date, Filing Cycle, Combo Plan, PBGC, Plan Category, Plan Group, Status, QDIA Fund Name, Valuation Frequency, Administration Type
  • Plan Cycles – Plan Name, Plan Cycle Status, Plan Cycle Frequency, Period Start, Period End
  • Contacts – Prefix, First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, Suffix, Email Title, Company, Portal User Name, Status, Address Type, Address 1, Address 2, City, State, Zip Code, Number Type, Number, Fax Number Type, Fax Number
  • Plan Contact Roles – Plan, First Name, Last Name, Plan Contact Role
  • Portal Users – Plan, First Name, Last Name, Portal User Role, Period Start, Period End
  • List Values – List Value Type, List Value

For a Plan Cycle to be eligible for this import, users need the following items set up with FTW:

  • Users must have at least a client and a plan with Plan Cycles
    • The client must be linked to an FTW Client
    • The plan must be linked to an FTW Plan
    • Under the plan record, Plan Cycles must exist
    • Plan Cycle must have Period Start and Period End which must match the year of what was filed through ftwilliam.com
  • The ftwilliam.com Import Power tool will only attempt to sync Plan Cycles for records that have not been previously synced.

 

Set Up ftwilliam.com API Key

Before users can import data with the ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool, users must confirm their FTW API key is entered in the General ftwilliam.com Settings Information page. Users can find directions on how to enter their FTW API key in the Setup section of Integrating Ftwilliam.Com Software With PensionPro.

 

Accessing the Power Tool

The ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool is accessed by clicking Power Tools > Import > Pension Pro Setup > ftwilliam.com Express Import. The Power Tool will open in a new tab. 

 

Importing Data 

  1. Once the ftwilliam.com Import Power Tool site opens, enter the FTW API key into Step 1 and click Continue.
  2. Select the box in the top-left of the Plans table of Step 2 to select All Plans. Once selections are completed, click Continue.
    • Users may choose individual plans if necessary.
    • Filtering is available by clicking the Filter icon.
    • Users can sort by clicking a column header to sort by that column.
  3. In Step 3, users may click the box in the top-left of the Contacts table to select All Contacts. Once selections are completed, click Continue.
    • Users can select individual contacts.
    • Filtering is available by clicking the Filter icon.
    • Users can sort by clicking a column header to sort by that column.
  4. In Step 4, an overview of the import will display as well as items that will be created as a result of the import. Confirm the information is correct and click Continue.
    • Once the import is successful, an email will be sent advising the client of the import results.
    • NOTE: The ftwilliam.com Express Import Power Tool will not import plans that do not have a Company value entered in ftwilliam.com
  5. Import Results will display in Step 5. Users should confirm the data imported successfully.
  6. Clicking the Export Results button allows the user to export a spreadsheet of the imported results.
