The following is a list of criteria for errors and warnings that are generated on the Employees step of Data Collection when Enable Census Scrubbing on PSL is enabled in PSL Preferences.

| Participant Age is less than than the Minimum Age Preference value | Warning: In most cases, age should not be under [Minimum Age Preference value] |
| Participant Age is greater than the Maximum Age Preference value | Warning: In most cases, age should not be greater than [Maximum Age Preference value] |
| Social Security Number is present more than once in the census data | Error: Duplicate SSN |
| Required fields (based on Collection Field rules) are blank | Error: [Collection Field Name] is required |
| Hire Date is prior to the Birth Date | Error: Hire Date cannot be before Birth Date |
| Hire Date is later than the Termination Date | Error: Termination Date cannot be before Hire Date |
| Termination Date is prior to the Project Period Start date | Warning: Termination Date is before the start of the current Plan Year |
| Termination Date is later than the Project Period End date | Warning: Termination Date is after the end of the current Plan Year |
| Employee does not have a Date of Rehire despite a Termination Date listed on a previous census | Warning: Date of Termination exists in a prior Period End, the current submission must include a Date of Rehire. |
| Hours is blank or set to 0 | Warning: In most cases, hours of service cannot be zero |
| Hours is a negative value | Error: Hours can not be negative. |
| Compensation is blank or set to 0 | Warning: Compensation should not be zero unless there is a Termination Date |
| The sum of Pre-Tax Salary Deferral, Roth Salary Deferral, Mandatory Employee Deferral, and Salary 457 Deferral is 0 for every employee | Warning: In most cases, at least one employee will have deferrals |
