Maintaining Opportunity Details

Opportunities represent new companies that your firms is interested in bringing on as a new client. The Opportunity Details page is where your firm can track general information and proposals for new Opportunities.

Opportunity Details - Home 

The Opportunity Details Home tab provides general information about your opportunity.

Add\Edit\Delete:  To Add an Opportunity, simply select Save & Add Opportunity in the save process of adding a Prospect or click on the Add button on the Opportunities Tab of the Prospect. Complete all required fields as noted at the bottom of the slider in both methods and save. 

To Edit select the Opportunity from the Opportunities Tab of the Prospect by single clicking on it to activate the Edit button and click on it.  Updated the information and click save.

To Delete, select the Opportunity from the Opportunities Tab of the Prospect by single clicking on to activate the Delete button and click on it.  Confirm your request to delete the Opportunity.

Fields Displayed:

Name:  This is the name of the opportunity.

Proposed Service Effective On:  This is the date the services for the opportunity are to commence.

Start Date:  This is the date the opportunity was started.

Sales Referral Source:  This is the source of the opportunity.  These values come from the Proposal Sales Referral Source List Value.

 

Opportunity Details - Proposals

The Opportunity Details Proposal tab provides a list of proposals associated with your opportunity.

Add\Edit\Delete:  To Add a Proposal, simply select Save & Add Proposal in the save process of adding an Opportunity or click on the Add button on the Proposals Tab of the Opportunity. Complete all required fields as noted at the bottom of the slider in both methods and save. 

To Edit select the Proposal from the Proposals Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on it to activate the Edit button and click on it.  Updated the information and click save. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE PROPOSAL TO OPEN IT.

To Delete, select the Opportunity from the Opportunities Tab of the Prospect by single clicking on to activate the Delete button and click on it.  Confirm your request to delete the Opportunity.

Fields Displayed:

Name | Text | REQUIRED | Enter the name of the opportunity to be associated with the prospect.  | Used to identify the opportunity.  The system will default to the name of the prospect.  It is recommended to include other identifiers such as the type of opportunity in the name as well for clarification from other opportunities on the scoreboard for the same prospect.  Such as 401(k), DB.  An opportunity is a plan or service being proposed.

Plan Type | Dropdown List Pulling from the Proposal Plan Type List Value | REQUIRED Enter the type of Plan up for proposal. | Used to identify the type of Plan.  Opportunities become plans in PensionPro when the business is sold.

Started On | Date | The date this Proposal record was started.

Closed On | Date | The date this opportunity record was closed either through a sale of new business or a lost sale. 

Status | Dropdown List Pulling from the Proposal Status List Value | REQUIRED Enter the status of the Proposal  | Used to identify the status of the Proposal in the sales process. Helpful in tracking the Proposal for follow-up purposes.

 

 

Closed On | Date | Enter the date this proposal record was closed either through a sale of new business or a lost sale. WHEN A DATE IS ENTERED IN THIS FIELD, THE OPPORTUNITY WILL NO LONGER BE VIEWABLE ON THE SCOREBOARD

 

Opportunity Details – To-Dos

The Opportunity Details To-Dos tab provides general information about all To-Dos associated with this Opportunity.

Add\Edit\Delete:  To Add a To-Do click on the Add button on the To-Dos Tab of the Opportunity. Complete all required fields as noted at the bottom of the slider in both methods and save. Adding a To-Do from this tab will automatically associate it with the Opportunity.

To Edit select the To-Do from the To-Dos Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on it to activate the Edit button and click on it. Updated the information and click save. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE TO-DO TO OPEN IT.

To Delete, select the To-Do from the To-Dos Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on to activate the Delete button and click on it.  Confirm your request to delete the To-Do.

Fields Displayed:

Assigned To: The name of the employee assigned to this To-Do item.

Title: The name of the To-Do.

Description: A description of the To-Do providing further information for completion. 

Status: This is the status of the To-Do.

Progress:  This is the percentage complete of this To-Do. 

 

 

Opportunity Details - Files

The Opportunity Details Files tab displays the files associated with your opportunity.

Add\Edit\Delete:  To Add a File click on the Add button on the Files Tab of the Opportunity. Complete all required fields as noted at the bottom of the slider  and save. 

To Edit select the File from the Files Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on it to activate the Edit button and click on it.  Updated the information and click save. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE FILE TO DOWNLOAD AND OPEN FROM THE FILE BIN.

To Delete, select the File from the Files Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on to activate the Delete button and click on it.  Confirm your request to delete the File.

Fields Displayed:

Type: The type of file - Dropdown List Pulling from Opportunity File Type List Value.

Title: The title of the file.

Description: An additional description of the file for reference.

Created On: Date the file was added to the proposal.

 

Opportunity Details – Notes

Security Right Required:  Delete Notes, Maintenance - deletion only

The Opportunity Details Notes tab provides general information about all notes associated with this Opportunity.

Add\Edit\Delete:  To Add a Note click on the Add button on the Notes Tab of the Opportunity. Complete field information as desired and save. 

To Edit select the Note from the Notes Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on it to activate the Edit button and click on it.  Updated the information and click save. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE NOTE TO OPEN IT.

To Delete, select the Note from the Notes Tab of the Opportunity by single clicking on to activate the Delete button and click on it.  Confirm your request to delete the NOTE. Deleting notes is a preference setting in the system. Notes can be archived to remove them from the standard screen view.

Fields Displayed:

Note: This is note concerning the prospect. 

Category: This is the note category used to describe the type of note - Dropdown List Pulling from Note Category List Value

Date: The date the note was created.

Created By: The name of the employee who created this note.
